November 2022 News Update

Last month was our fabulous Calendar Girls Production.  I do so hope you managed to get a seat.  A wonderful production, such fun and some superb acting. Surely our ladies of HW wouldn’t dream of cheating in baking competitions in the same way! So now it is full steam ahead for the HAG Christmas Show – such variety, we do like to be kept busy as it certainly helps to make the winter feel shorter.
We always welcome new members, keen to take part in whatever capacity, please contact us, details below, or visit our website for more information about our Group.

HAG ROCKS! CHOIR The choir are rehearsing too for the Christmas Show. You may have seen our Musical Director, Amanda in Calendar Girls, a lady of many talents. I wish I could tell you exactly what they are rehearsing, dear reader, very hush hush, it will be a surprise for you nearer Christmas. But I bet you won’t be able to stop yourself from singing along. What a splendid way to start the Christmas festivities!  A big welcome back to our MD Lesley, on her feet again after her operation.

Please contact us if you are interested in joining our fun group in whatever capacity.

October 2022 News Update

This month is our fabulous Calendar Girls Production.  If you are reading this before our final show on 15th October, you might just be lucky enough to grab a seat!  Are they going to need bigger buns? What could be nicer than being entertained on a cold autumnal night, shorten the long winter feeling and come and join us?  Hot drinks and a bar to wet your whistles…….. or are wolf whistles no longer allowed?

HAG ROCKS! CHOIR

Choir has restarted after the summer break; Monday 7.30pm in the Jubilee Hall and it is full steam ahead for the annual Christmas Show. A challenge for Amanda, one of our Musical Directors as she has been on her own keeping the Choir in check – not an easy task (oh we do like to natter and catch up)!  Hoping our other Musical Director Lesley has had a good recovery and is back on her feet.  Maybe we ought to add some dancing to the singing?

Our statement on the passing of Her Majesty The Queen

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. For over seventy years she has dedicated her life to service for her country and the Commonwealth, and been a figurehead of national unity and stability at a time of enormous change.
She has led at all times with a quiet determination and selfless devotion, and has been all that is the very best in us. While being Monarch she has raised a loving family whom she adored, and they her. As HRH Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh was to her, she has been our nation’s strength and stay.
We join the Royal Family and the nation in their grief and offer the Royal Family our heartfelt condolences.

September 2022 News Update

There comes a day each September when you wake up and know the summer is over and autumn has arrived. The slant of the sun looks different and something is in the air–a coolness, a hint of frost. Now it is September, it also means we are now only a month away from our next production Calendar Girls.  Rehearsals are going well, and the Director, Cast and Crew are all looking forward to putting on a great show for you. It is a very popular show, so early booking will be advisable. If you have not gotten your tickets yet, make sure you get them as soon as you can. Show Dates: 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th and 15th October.

HAG ROCKS! CHOIR

Our Hag Rocks! Choir held a very successful musical evening in July, raising money for local charity Step by Step. Our Concert included performances by the Ukulele Band of the Fleet U3A, and our in-house rock band Mid Life Crisis. A great evening was had by all! Next term starts on Sept 5th, when we will be working towards our popular Christmas Show, on Dec 9th and 10th at the Victoria Hall.

Please contact us if you are interested in joining our fun group in whatever capacity.  Stay safe and take care.

The Choir is on holiday this month resting their vocal cords after a successful Summer Concert.
