Who Killed The Secret Agent

Ah, Moult-Lightly, I’ve been expecting you!’… A 1960’s themed Bond-spoof-murder-mystery that’s guaranteed to leave you both shaken and stirred!

‘Who Killed the Secret Agent?’ contains all the ingredients of James Bond’s early film outings… the glamour, the gadgets and the gaffes. It takes place in 1961 inside the HQ of the British secret service in London. With the Space Race hotting up, both America and Britain are preparing to send their top agents over to Moscow in a bid to infiltrate the Russian’s cosmonaut programme. Enter the darling of the British secret service, Marcus Moult-Lightly! Agent Double O-M-G is daring, charismatic and handsome, yet completely lacking in all tact and modesty. His previous mission has been a shambles and past mistakes hover over him like a ‘Spectre’.

This will be our February play and has now been cast. If you would like to help out in any way please get in touch. contactus@hartleyartsgroup.com

Roger is having trouble getting a team together for the afternoons fixture against the British Railways Maintenance Division Yeading East but this proves to be the least of anyone’s worries. Bob is having marriage trouble as he is still doing odd jobs for his ex-wife behind his current wife Ginnie’s back. Dennis is also having marital trouble as his wife seems intent on moving house despite the fact they only moved recently. When he finally puts his foot down she sets fire to his new car. Kevin is trying to fight off his over affectionate wife Maggie while at the same time nurse his injured spinning finger and Alex’s new girlfriend ends up shutting herself in the toilets having hysterics. Even Roger’s seemingly perfect marriage to Miriam hits the skids when she discovers he was playing away from home in more ways than one on a trip to Dorking last year. Just when it seems things can’t get any worse for them, it starts to rain.

Outside Edge – Time to bowl us over with your talent!

Young Stars – Spy School

15th July 2017, 3pm, Victoria and Jubilee Halls, Hartley Wintney
Three Rookie Spies arrive at Spy School on their first day of training. For absolutely no good reason at all, one of them spontaneously announces to the assembled Spies, and worse, Head of Spy School, that they are ready to show their worth by completing a mission on their first day. After a brief (and fairly silly) training session they are absolutely totally unprepared to discover the whereabouts of the mysterious ‘Seventh Department’…

AGM and Social Evening

Our AGM and social evening is taking place on Tuesday, 13th June 2017 at 8pm. As well as the formal bit, which we try and keep as short as possible, the evening represents a time when everyone and anyone associated with HAG can get together and socialise, find out what’s happening and get involved. And even better, there will be free drinks and possibly the odd nibble or two.
Anyone can attend: Members, Associates, Friends, Spouses and Pets. The only minor issue is that you have to be a member to vote.

Without wishing to browbeat anybody, this is your group and the more you participate, the stronger the group will be. We need people to get involved in all aspects of the running of the group. If you would like to be on the committee or stand for office, then please let us know (again you need to join as a member). We’d be delighted have you on board. Also, just about every area of HAG activity needs people to step up and support. This includes not just acting but all the back-stage aspects such as set building, sound and light, costumes, stage management, front of house and the bar. Our group succeeds or fails on the degree to which people are willing to get involved.

So we very much encourage you to put this date in your diary, come along, have a good time and hear about all opportunities HAG has to offer.

The formal bit follows…
