Introducing HAG Spotlight!

Spotlight Contact

HAG Spotlight has been formed to stage back to basics dramas and comedies. It runs alongside and in addition our usual production schedule of plays, musicals and pantos. We commence with the arguably most electric Shakespeare of them all – Macbeth.

Our abridged version will be performed in the brand new Jubilee Hall and will be a ‘stripped down’ production – that is – as Shakespeare would have been performed. Okay, perhaps we do have a couple of contemporary touches to add to the production, but essentially this version will be performed by a cast of actors and little else – you’ll be treated to the famous play with the written word brought to life with passion and in it’s original dialect!

JubileeHall

We hope that you’ll support this new venture – success will mean we’ll look at performing Wilde, Beckett and even Alan Bennett. Tickets are just £8 and seating is limited. Why not dip your toe into HAG Spotlight with probably the most famous play of all!

The Big Day is here…

HelenHelen

There Goes The Bride has its public premiere this evening! This riotous farce by Ray Cooney & John Chapman promises laughs and knockabout humour galore. Don’t miss this comedy to brighten up the spring – we’d love to see you there.

There Goes the Biscuit…

Cast members were out in force today at the Wedding Fayre at Fleet’s Hart Shopping Centre. Apart from distributing leaflets the cast sold home-made cakes and biscuits expertly iced by the two younger ladies in the photograph. (L to R, grown ups, for want of a better description) Antonia Demetriadi, Helen Lewis, Kevin Cluett, Kelvin Fay and Alicia Forsaith.

When The Hurly Burly’s Done

We had an excellent evening with some of the membership outlining our plans plus inviting suggestions, more of this will filter out soon. But one of the big announcements was HAG Spotlight, a ‘back to basics’ series of presentations.

The first one is Shakespeare’s ‘the Scottish play’, an abridged version, for staging at the Jubilee Hall in summer. With a stripped-down presentation we hope these plays and monologues will appeal to an audience – prices tbc, but much less than normal HAG presentations.

More soon, including audition date, in the meantime we have There Goes The Bride to rehearse!
