It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend Keith Robertson.
Keith was an enthusiastic supporter of Hartley Arts Group and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help the running of the society. If you have seen any of Hartley Arts Group’s productions over the years you will have seen Keith either acting or singing, and most frequently – both. He will be greatly missed by us all.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Carole and her family at this time.
Please find below the details of Keith Robertson’s service:
Funeral Service at 2:00pm on Thursday January 5th at Basingstoke Crematorium, Stockbridge Road, North Waltham RG25 2BA, and afterwards in Hartley Wintney (venue TBC).
The family asks that no black funeral wear be worn (as you know, Keith was a colourful character!) and no flowers please. In lieu of flowers, and only if you wish, donations to Saint Michael’s Hospice, Basingstoke are welcome. These can be arranged through Holmes & Family: sarah@holmesfunerals.com
If you wish to attend the gathering in Hartley Wintney that day, please contact hartleyartsgroup@gmail.com to let her know you’re coming so she can manage numbers.
Here’s our Joking Apart cast at rehearsal – love all! Tickets on sale at www.ticketsource.co.uk/hag. They’re only £15 (we’re not running a…erm…racquet) and that includes a fish & chips supper at your table from Hartleys in the village.

We’re holding a play read through for our January Murder Mystery production ‘Who Killed the Mad Scientist?’ on Wednesday 21st September, 19:30 Edward Hall (Victoria Hall Complex), Hartley Wintney. Everyone is welcome (members or not).
This fun play has ten lively characters – this could be your opportunity to step onto the stage! Biscuits provided if you needed any incentive to pop down and read through, even if you don’t want a part.
We’re delighted to announce that this October’s production is the brilliant comedy by Alan Ayckbourn – Joking Apart. The play is set in Richard and Anthea’s garden over twelve years on bonfire night, a summer tennis party, boxing day and their daughter Debbie’s 18th birthday. Richard, Anthea and their friends repeatedly gather to relax and compete, both on and off the tennis court, as their private agonies emerge to devastating effect.
We’ll be performing the play at The Victoria Hall on October 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22.

Congratulations to our HAG Young Stars on their performances of The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe this weekend which was really well supported by our audiences. The children, aged 6-16, worked extremely hard together to achieve a great show, supported backstage (make up, props, sound, lighting, costume design) by the BTEC performing arts students from Yateley Secondary school’s Park Bench Productions. Top work Young Stars!
