Hartley Arts Group are holding auditions for our autumn production – Celebrating Centenaries! A programme of short plays and music celebrating one hundred years since the end of WW1, Women’s Suffrage and other events marking their centenaries. Auditions will be held on 26th and 28th June, 8.00 p.m, Jubilee Hall, Hartley Wintney. Lots of parts for men and women of all ages. See you there!

Please come along to our auditions for the next play Daisy Pulls it Off. The auditions are at 8pm on 20th February at the Jubilee Hall,  Hartley Wintney. We are also holding auditions on the 22nd at 8pm. A super mixture of parts for all. Please express your interest with our director Lesley Nicholls. Daisy Meredith, the new girl, is the first scholarship student to attend the Grangewood School for Girls. The privileged students are determined to make Daisy look bad in the eyes of the administration. The administration has its own problems, financial ones. Daisy wins over her chums and saves the school when she cracks a secret code, finds a treasure and saves the life of her chief nemesis all on the same night! A long running success in London’s West End, this inventive spoof of English school girl adventure novels delights its audiences.

Ticket price of £16 includes ‘cricket tea’ … a  sumptuous spread of sandwiches and cakes. Reasonably priced bar. A great night out!

Roger is having trouble getting a team together for the afternoons fixture against the British Railways Maintenance Division Yeading East but this proves to be the least of anyone’s worries. Bob is having marriage trouble as he is still doing odd jobs for his ex-wife behind his current wife Ginnie’s back. Dennis is also having marital trouble as his wife seems intent on moving house despite the fact they only moved recently. When he finally puts his foot down she sets fire to his new car. Kevin is trying to fight off his over affectionate wife Maggie while at the same time nurse his injured spinning finger and Alex’s new girlfriend ends up shutting herself in the toilets having hysterics. Even Roger’s seemingly perfect marriage to Miriam hits the skids when she discovers he was playing away from home in more ways than one on a trip to Dorking last year. Just when it seems things can’t get any worse for them, it starts to rain.

OUTSIDE EDGE AUDITIONS

The most important team selection of the year takes place on Thursday 6th July at 8pm in the Jubilee Hall.

We have a brand new director to HAG and we want him be bowled over by the number of auditionees!

Nothing to prepare – just sign in on arrival. Open to members and non-members.

Even if you do not intend to audition, we need to fill many production roles back stage including set design and construction, props, sound and lighting and front of house. This will be a fun production for cast, crew and audience alike! Make sure your name is on the team list!

CHARACTERS

Required Characters:

• Roger: M (40-50s) Team organiser married to Miriam
• Miriam: F (40-50s) Puts up with Roger’s uncaring attitude. She is the real organiser
• Kevin: M (30-40s) Team spin bowler friend of Roger, often behaves like a sulking child. Married to Maggie
• Maggie: F (30-40s) Kevin’s wife who adores him and DIY instead of domestic chores
• Bob: M (40-50s) Married to Ginnie, but spends a lot of time with his ex-wife
• Ginnie: (30-40s) Long suffering second wife to Bob
• Dennis: M (40-50s) Carpet salesman, fancies himself as a ladies man
• Sharon: (20s) Alex’s girlfriend, shy, feels out of place at the cricket
• Alex: M (30s) The only unmarried team member and the best batsman. Private education, now a lawyer
