We will be performing 4 out of the 5 comedy plays, and a really enjoyable local evening out is guaranteed! The cast have been working so hard on this one, lots of line learning going on, and really deserve your support.

May 2022 News Update

Alan Ayckbourn’s Confusions; our plays for June are being rehearsed twice a week and the Group is very busy building sets, collecting props and organising costumes. So much involved with putting on one play, let alone four AND all on the same night! HAG will rise to the challenge! Please put the show dates in your diary: June 17^th, 18^th, 23^rd, 24^th and 25^th. Tickets on sale soon through Ticket Source. Come along to the Victoria Hall and enjoy an entertaining evening locally. Support your local thespians, they are an endangered species!

HAG ROCKS! CHOIR

Last month was a challenge, as with rising numbers of people suffering from the dreaded virus, numbers at choir were seriously depleted. As I write this a month in advance I am hoping we did finally manage to have our Charity event to honour Lesley Parish and fund raise for her chosen charities. If we did manage it, I am sure an excellent time would be had by all as HAG certainly knows how to party! (Past experience of some fantastic evenings).

HAG Membership Fees £35 were due on April 1^st – if you haven’t yet paid please do so asap. Your subscriptions are very important to the Group. More info on our website. Thank you.

April 2022 News update

April and Spring has sprung and HAG has sprung in to action in readiness for our June Production; Alan Ayckbourn’s Confusions. We will be performing four of the five one act plays that are all interlinked, ending with the well-known farce; Gosforth’s Fete. Please put the show dates in your diary: June 17^th, 18^th, 23^rd, 24^th and 25^th. All in the Victoria Hall – who needs to go to the West End for their entertainment? We always run a bar and teas and coffees are available too. Why not gather a group of friends and enjoy a good laugh together? Tickets on sale soon through Ticket Source.

HAG ROCKS! CHOIR

Saturday 9^th April we will finally be singing at our Charity Evening in memory of our sorely missed founder HAG Member Mrs Lesley Parish. We are learning new songs and reprising some of our old favourites for this event and again for our summer concert in July.

REMINDER!
AUDITIONS FOR AYCKBOURN’S “CONFUSIONS”
TUES 15^TH & THURS 17^TH MARCH – JUBILEE HALL – 8pm
There are 4 short comedy plays to audition for, so you can try for a part in all 4 if you wish, or as many or few as you like!

Rehearsing on Tuesdays
Mother Figure   – directed by Alan      2F 1M
Drinking Companions – directed by Julie 2F 2M

Rehearsing on Thursdays
Between Mouthfuls – directed by Gill   2F 2M 1 M or F
Gosforth’s Fete – directed by Doris. 2F   3M

All 4 plays will be auditioned on both nights, and at 8pm there’s a chance to read through a short synopsis of the plays and the audition pieces. So please come along and support this production, HAG needs to continue moving forward!
